The page, which is still a beta site (working-test site), has become very ‘widget-ised’ with large, clear, moveable sections.
These can be set up to give a more personalised landing page with news stories relevant to what you’re interested in – or the region you’re from.
The BBC site was starting to feel a little tired compared to some of their fresher looking news-providing competitors, so the revamp was certainly needed.
If people become happy with customising a homepage from such a trusted source as the BBC we could see another surge in interest for similar Web 2.0 friendly sites and applications.
